Default Marlin Back in Ghana

Dear friends,

I am based in Ada Foah, Ghana. I have a 20'' Bayliner for the past year and I have been doing some good fishing around Ada area, and in few occasions have tried the Marlin with no luck. At the same time I have been going with the Hooker 4 times in the last 8 weeks, and thinking that the Marlin vanished from our waters, finally they are back!!!!!

We had our first 3 strikes last saturday: 650 and 400 Lbs, 2 of them (the first one strike twice on the Magic Marlin Lures). They were not that big but still some action is coming back. At the same time there are 2 other boats in Takoradi with excellent results in the last 3 weeks (Oil Platforms there now). The 2 boats are run by an Austrian fellow and a German Capt. respectively, and a friend of mine got 2 marlins 800 Lbs and 550 in one day. At the same time 16 wahoos in his second day trip.

For all of you that heared Ghana was some time ago a paradise for the marlin, I think is coming back!!!!! Remember these days with Harmatttan and Shy II.... The strikes were constant.......

After the drop off we got an intense strike on our Ballyhoo Williamson, not knowing what it was. The locals claimed a big shark...........

Regards,

Marco

Not for nothing, but you couldn't pay me enough to go to Africa these days. Good luck and be careful...
