Thanks Jersey!

When you say Amber, are you referring to the HCL Bronze?

Thanks!

Jeez, as often as these sunglass debates come up.I'd love to see some company or research group or whatever,Give us the true lowdown, once and for all.(they research and test every other GD thing)I know, a lot depends on personal preference. But as far as uv blocking, polarization, distortion etc. There really must be a true "best". I'm sure we all would like to know the truth. I would.

By the way,I just bought a pair of Maui Jims at Costco.$79.99 !! Yea, they're real. and freakin sweet too. I love them. they had 4 or 5 different models.I bought the MJ-302-23. The list on the sticker was $309.I know that's what they would cost at Sunglass hut. I probably shouldn't have posted this, Now the next time I neeed a pair of Mauis ,There won't be any LOL.

Default Kaenon Sunglasses

Kaenon sunglasses don't use polycarbonate lenses as mentioned in this thread - they actually have their own patented polarized lenses which are made from a material called SR-91. The HUGE advantage over polycarbonate is not just that they have better optical quality, but they are stronger -the lenses are guaranteed for life against cracking or splitting. I had problems with both CDM and especially Maui Jim sunglass lenses cracking around the point where the frame attaches to the lens - with 3 different MJ's! I switched to Kaenon 3 years ago and have bought several pairs for different conditions, but my first original pair are still going strong. I might get the lenses replaced at some point because they have a couple of dings but still work great despite taking some serious abuse (I am rough on my toys.) Check out the Kaenons - they are pretty much the same price as both CDM and Maui Jim and worth every penny. I have switched a few friends over to Kaenon and they all love their shades.
