Default Cabo charter recommendation needed

Headed to Cabo for my honeymoon in late March to early April. Any recommendations? Looking for an inshore/nearshore and an offshore charter. Thanks in advance.

There are loads of operations here in cabo but I have my own boat so I don't charter. Please find one that releases the billfish and don't let the crew convince you to kill one. they kill them to sell to the markets down here. It is a shame.

I hear Picante and Pisces are high end operations, Minerva's may be more economical.

By the way, march can be quite rough and windy, mid April starts to get better

Great advice by both the above posters. Also look at redrum sportfishing, I've had very good luck with them. Picante is top end, but I've fished with Pisces many times and they are very reasonable and catch lots of fish as well. I've also fished with El Budster a couple times over the years and have no problem recommending them.
Not the best time frame though...may i suggest you set an early precedent in your marraige and move it up a couple months to hit the bite better??

I was disappointed with Redrum. The captain put out a spread of old worn out lures - didn't change a thing until we had trolled for about 3 1/2 hrs with no bites. Trolled for most of those hours in the same small area. The boat was dicey to say the least - the only safety equipment was a vhf radio. We finally hooked a dorado when he rigged a bait and moved to an area with some weedlines and small rips.

Just my $ .02

What will be in season that time of year? Also any good nearshore/inshore charters?

We fished a tournament their in May of 2008 and ended up with 4 different operations the Picante fleet was by far the best day/boat/crew we had with a close second coming to the Minerva boat. One of the members of our team fished a Minerva boat when he was their previously and was also happy with their performance the previous times when he fished with them. I think the normal cost of the Minerva boat was less than half of the Picante boat.

I will add to the Picante recommendation. I only fished with them once, in December, but it was top notch. Nice boat (Cabo), professional crew and my daughter and I caught one striped marlin (which we released) and a whole bunch of mahi-mahi (which we let the crew keep), all in a 6h or so excursion.

Can't argue with Picante, except for them being twice the price. too rich for my blood Redrum, Pisces, Minerva...pretty much the same quality of boats/crews in my experience, but any given day you can run into a clunker with the moderate priced fleets. Best to do is get a recommendation on a specific boat/cappy if ya can. good luck!

Our experience on the Picante boat was a 2008 32 Cabo so maybe we lucked out but it was nicer than any other boat we fished in the 4 day tournament by a long stretch and they were one of the top crews in the fleet. We fished a late 80's or early 90's 33 Ocean with the Minvera fleet and it was in good shape especially for a charter boat. I think the other fleet we fished with was the Pisces and it was a old luhrs that had been repowered well but the bilge ran the whole day and the remaining condition of the boat was suspect. If I had to pay again I would choose Minerva and if someone else was paying and wanted a top notch experience Picante would get the nod.

take a walk on the marina and talk with the boat captains, be careful with the coyotes on the side walk.
