Cancun fishing - Looking to share a charter in April 2009

Anyone heading down to Cancun looking to split a charter? I'm heading down with my son in april from 8th though the 13th .

Looking to do some sport fishing for a few days.

I'll be there 12th-19th. Know any good boats on Isla?

Which Isla? from the 12th to the 14th I will be down in Puerto Aventuras fishing. Haven't booked anything yet. From what I hear its prime time sailfish, whites, wahoo and dorado.

I'm interested in any intel.

I will be in the cancun hotel district area from the 8th to the 11th.

I'll be in Cancun 12-19th

Reel Pursuit: the timing is off, but I will be in cancun until the morning of the 12th. Have you fished Isla Mujeres in april before? any suggestions on captains, I plan on fishing a couple of days between the 8th and 11th.

Try Anthony Mendella with Keen M sportfshing. I think he has 2 boats now. He is an American guy and is very good. I was there in 06 with my 3 boys (ages 12,10,7) and my wife.. we went 26 out of 50plus strikes on Sails, my family "allowed" me to catch 1 fish...still the best day I have ever had bill fishing. where is this guy out of? what was the steam time to start fishing?

We were fishing in about an hour. Remember this is "Isla in the Spring" all of the locals and Gringo's have an idea of were the fish are. We did not troll and find them, they will be on large bait balls and will be taking turns attacking the balls. The Locals can use livebait and "we" as charters have to use deadbait and circle hooks. Every once in a while you'll see a local in a panga live bait and harvest a sail, but it's not too bad from what I saw. The action is tremendous, Anthony will have everyone on the boat catching fish if you listen to every word he says....The technics are very important. He had very good equipment, custom rods, and shimano tld's fishing all 20# test mono. I will try to find his # and post it for you.

do a search on Keen M sportfishing Isal, you'll find everything you need. There is only a couple of Marina's on Isla and his father in law ownes the big one where the ferry launches..Have fun

I have heard good things about those guys. Just curious about the logistics. Will they steam over to Cancun to pick us up or do we have to make arrangements to get to the island in the AM?
