Hammered Diamond Jig should cover most of your needs. Get them from 6-16oz..

You can get the hammered jigs with the lunker light in them. Also the butterfly jigs work ,remember that nothing is going to work every time ,you need variety .

Everyone I know and have heard of uses butterfly jigs. For half the money you can buy Williamson's instead of the shimano ones.

i had a 10 lb mahi straighten out a hook on a SPRO bucktail. i'll never buy them again. as for jigs, i've never used anything but diamond jigs for tuna in the northeast. great results

dang it! I went out and bought some SPRO's today. They look awsome I hope that was a fluke incident (no pun intended) Hell if I was a fish I'd eat those things lol. Dick's sporting goods had alot of good prices on the lures and alot of color options. I might go by there tomorrow and pick up some Dirty Dicks lures to round out my color/style choices.

We fished out of OI Saturday. After the fleet showed up all the tuna went down and would not bite on the troll. We fished with 3 jigs, one diamond jig and 2 butterfly jigs (don't know the brand). The butterfly jigs outfished the diamond jig with the diamond jig only producing 1 fish. Check out my report (w/ video).

Some of the Shimano Butterfly jigs looked great and had great reviews online but they came unrigged so that was a little strange to me.

I was talking about the bucktails, not diamond style jigs. you can't really change a hook on a bucktail

yes with the butterfly's you need to buy split and solid rings, and some of the stinger hooks, pretty easy to rig up though...
