MUST be to early for Stripers or I Suck.. Went out last night fished the incoming mostly from 6 pm to 1am..Hit the hook and some bouys first then sat in the rips for hrs with a few other boats.
NOTHING...Maybee a bump or two thats it..
We used live eels (which were cooled and swam nicely) 6/0 hooks 40 pd test. 2 - 5 oz FF rigs.I dropped the eel to the bottom and let him free swim about 50 ft then locked the reel, Im assuming this is the way to do it.
Even tried some cut fresh Bunker. We did not anchor just drifted. Is it too early to expect fish at night in these areas, I heard of some guys picking up large fish during the day in the raritan bay area. But we have had 0 luck at night.
Any recommendations on when the Bass will be moving. Or should we just be drifting eels at the shrews rocks
