Rod is new as well, unused, and has upper and lower aftco roller guides, hypalon grips, gold anodized reel seat rings and slick butt. Rod is model SU50100RS. I bought a set of three of these. bradinhawaii,

You posted it is a Tiagra 50W is that the LRS series as well? AS in 50WLRS? If so, would you be interested in seperating the rod and reel? Just looking for the reel. If so, email me what you would take for the reel.

Well I just checked my "Tackle Box" and there was nothing there, so I don't know where the mail might be as I don't think my email address is accessible? Assume you are interested in the reels. If so, I really need to give "Jacko" first shot as his post was the reason I posted my message. However, if he is not interested . . . . . . .

First light,
Sorry for the confusion. I sent the email to the account listed in your profile, not the tackle box.

Hmmm. On the old system I elected to not have my email viewable but with the changeover it has reappeared, so I hid it again.

Jacko, FYI the Shimano TLD-25's are 50 lb class reels - I have caught marlin and 130 lb YFT on them.

Y&R, don't know what happened, but your email never arrived. I have 2 email address's and have had others emails also not come through to the address that was listed. Try this one: wjen@compuserve.com.

clinecs,

The reel is a 50 wide, but not an LRS. Email me at bradshin@earthlink.net if you have any other questions.

Hate to tell you but TLD-25's, although great reels, are not 50 lb class reels. You can put any size line on any reel but that doesn't mean they are adequate for the line size. Again, the TLD-25's are great reels, maybe even classics, but they are good for 20-30 lb line. You can't exert the same drag on a TLD-25 as a Shimano 50 Tiagra or a Penn Int'l 50 which are both true 50 lb tackle.

Jags: You are correct that the TLD-25 is not a 50 Tiagra or Penn Int'l 50, but you've got a lot to learn about reels and fighting fish if you think they're only good for 20 or 30 lb line.
