60' Ritchie Howell Canyon Runner - 6/23-24 (21 Yellowfin w/15 over 40 pounds) w/Pics

Captain Mark DeBlasio and Peter Doran of the Canyon Runner team took the 60’ Ritchie Howell out again Monday to Tuesday with the Jim Suto and Steve Roberts charter and headed back down to the Spencer canyon area Monday only to find the fish had moved. 5 hours of trolling produced no bites and a call over the radio had us running 10+ more miles south were we finally found the action on the bank in 500 feet of water. We put them in and not a few minutes later 4 nice 40-60 pound yellowfin in the boat before dark. An 8 mile drift at night saw a blue and dusky shark but nothing else. Up on the troll in the morning they picked away at 17 more yellowfin. Out of the 21 yellowfin 15 were in the 40-80 pound range. Canyon Runner Mini-Sevenstrand Green Machine Bars and ballyhoo were what you needed in the spread today to get the bites.
