Gulf Coast Outboard Classic - The Hull Truth

Anyone fishing in the Gulf Coast Outboard Classic the end of this month in Orange Beach? If it is anything like the other tournaments held in that marina it should be sweet. I am going and was just wondering if any others were planning on it.

1k entry fee,hopefully it will have a good turnout...same folks whoput together the OB Billfish Classic. Were getting a crew together,hopefully the yellowfin will still be around.

Xiphius, Are you definetly in? What will you be fishing on? I am leaving Tampa on Wed night. Some of our crew has been fishing the area this week and had great success. Lots of big yellowfin, one was 110 and another 170. The biggest blue was est at 450lbs and had a tag already in her. They fished one day off Destin and the other off the Beercan rig. Both produced well.

We fish a 27 World Cat w/225 Hondas...Now the shi^^ty brown Mississippi is flooding the Gulf. Crappy water at the close rigs. Now were watching to see if any good water is going to be accessable for a one day tournament.

Team Stallion is in with bells on. The tournament allows lines in after the Capt's meeting. Expecting 35 to 45 boats according to the headquarters.

Stallion, we are fishing on a friends 38' Jupiter with trip F250s and a tower. Look me up and i will buy you a drink and discuss my AAA+++ game. Our pre-fishing crew has had great success with a Pakula Dojo in dorado colors off Destin. If the water color is good i hope to get over to the rigs, but with the flood waters dumping out who knows. The yellowfin bite is still really strong too. Make sure your mom feeds you some wheaties if you want to hang with the big boys. See you there.

We are fishing it too. Should be a great event given the way things are usually done over there. Jupiter Marine is the title sponsor of the event so I would expect to see a lot of their boats there. I think this tournament will be one of the best around in the next few years; especially, for us center console guys.
