We have the Rup Nok Outs and love em. They hold spreader bars with no problem and the adjustability is great with them.

They all work...just depends the $$$ you want to spend for the convenience. I run blacks and Nok-outs.. Nok-Outs seem to hold the heavy spreaders and chains better than the blacks..... IMO

I like the knock outs best, but be very carefull you do not make a half hitch if you do when the fish hits it will open the clip but wont release from the roller resulting in bent outrigger or broken line/ fish
make SURE the line goes up from the bottom and over the top of the roller with no twists.

I'll Second what City Slicker said, I love the Nok Outs, but don't twist the line. I was lucky I figured it out on a small fish, a big fish could do some damage to the riggers especially tele riggers.

"blacks" are the cheap, $10 a pair outrigger clips with the small dial on the side to control the tension. This is the brand that just about every boat shop will have in stock . They do indeed work well, but they can and do break with time...its just the nature of them.... but for the $$ its tough to argue with.

I use the nok-outs and love them. But I'm thinking about putting on some blacks in addition as shown in this article.

The Diesel outrigger clips available from Melton (may be available from other shops too but I'm not aware of them) are a tougher version of the black's. The pin style clips will chafe your line if you are using high resistance lures or baits and running the lines through the clips. Even roller trollers will chafe the line eventually. Professional crewmen will often add a small loop to the mainline made from waxed bait rigging floss, dacron or a nylon material called Powergum to snap into the clip, so that the pin bears on the loop and not the mainline.
