Default Re: Buying new RodNReel combos tomorrow? Recommendations. bottom fishing, jigging for tuna

I got to test the new combos and they were just what I was looking for. They may not quite have the drag pressure for a nice YF tuna, but my thumb can help out with extra pressure if needed.

The rods were great with hook setting on red snapper. We caught over 60 red snapper. Three over 20 lbs., and atleast a dozen over 12 lbs. as well. The action of the rods made catching the 6-8 pounders a blast, while they still had the backbone to handle the 20 pounders as well. I agree that the 50-100 lb. rods are a little light, but I love the action. If the fish get big, I have plenty of other gear on the boat that will handle more.

Thanks,

Chris
