What is the best commercial fishing fish to catch??
After looking at many forums and job opportunities, I have brought up the question of exactly what is the best fish to catch in the commercial fishing business? When answering this question take everyting into affect, not just pay.

Do yourself a great favor. Forget commercial fishing and chartering. Both of these lines of work are dying out because of depleted fish stocks and regulations. Getting a permit to fish commercially for many species is seriously expensive if not impossible.

A Hong Kong sushi restaurant owner paid a record 55,700 dollars for a huge bluefin tuna that was caught off Japan’s northern region of Aomori. Around $91.per lb
1/5/2001 TOKYO -- (AP) -- An enormous bluefin tuna -- a fish prized as sushi -- sold for a record $173,600 Friday in the first auction of the year at Tokyo's main fish market.
At $391 a pound, the 444-pound fish was the most expensive auctioned off at the Tsukiji Central Fish Market in years. In 1996, a 250-pound bluefin fetched $44,100.

Amen. As soon as those guys (Long Liners I'm speaking of) adapt around the regs, find a fishery and start making money, the Feds slam on the brakes.
If you want to work your ass off, not be appreciated and have the government tie your hands, maybe take up agricultural farming. You won't make any money there either but at least Willie Nelson will throw you a concert.
