Default take a Military Hero / Vet fishing?

anyone ever volunteered to take a Military Vet / hero fishing, ie some of our guys in the military that want to fish or boat, via various internet sites and forums?

They all certainly deserve and have earned the right to be out on the water and enjoying life again, just dont know anything about it but would like to help out if anyone can provide info on how to hook up with the right groups

Yes I have, but not thru a forum. My fishing partners younger brother is in the Marines (Force Recon Unit) and I take them out (he and his buddy) when ever they want, if I can.
Here they are with Jason last summer home from Iraq. Josh on the left is Jason's brother, he on disability right now, he shattered his ankle. And his buddy Kevin is on the right. I get some benefit from this also as they dive some of the spots we fished on.

I don't know where you are are from, but there is always a National Guard or reserve unit somewhere close. Just stop by and introduce yourself and offer your services. They can figure out a way to determine who will go and in what order. Good luck and thank you for thinking of them, they will truly appreciate it.

Marco River Marina has offered free boat rentals for returning vets. They have for over a year now.

I have also checked into doing this and met a military guy in front of grocery store and asked him who to contact locally and he gave me the number and I called it and never received a call back. My two oldest brothers served in Vietnam and I can tell you, they need support. I would love to give something that would bring enjoyment and actually be for the soldiers directly without having to donate to some charity that you really don't know how much actually is spent on soldiers and not some execs. salary to run the charity.

I did that his summer, had the pleasure of taking out 3 guys from the 10th mountain division out of Fort Drum. It was a fairly slow day but they had a blast. I found out a month and a half ago that one of the guys was killed in action in Iraq. He did catch his biggest fish ever on the boat, he was so happy. I am going to see if I can get a couple of boats together this summer and get a few more out this summer.
Here is a pic of Johnnie with his fish. RIP bud.

I Thank All our armed forces and veterans for allowing us to live the life we have here in the GREAT USA.
