Default penn 50vsw drag slipping

hey, i was looking at some nice penn 50vsw's for sale. one of them, the seller said that the drag engages but under preasure it will slip. has anyone heard of this happening before? i heard that the 50vsw drags, you cant blow and the reel has barley been used. can i fix this?

Yes, it can be fixed, if its broken. It needs to be examined to find out what the problem really is.

Careful on ebay. I've heard of a number of people getting scammed on hi-dollar reels on ebay.

Sounds like some grease from the metal parts has strayed into the drag washers from hosing under pressure.

But who knows- If you can't fix it prior to purchase, I would pass. Too many other more expensive possibilities like a broken cam, warped spool, etc.

if it has spectra, check to make sure the spectra is not slipping on the spool.......
