Don't get the elec tra mate. Get the Precision brand. Definitely off the house batts.

I have not used, but have seen, the Kristal reels. They are high end and pretty pricey. But if the $$$ is not an issue i would look long and hard at those bad boys!

The new electric daiwa reels are awsome. they have a ton of torq and the batteries last a long time. plus the are very light in comparison to the electramates and the precision

What are you fishing for? The electric reel I would use to help a child catch a dolphin isn't the same electric reel I would use for wahoo fishing in the Bahamas or deep-dropping.

Go for the Kristal, I use the 635 xl for my kite reels, and this would be perfect for the purpose you are looking for. It has adjustable speed, momentary push button, or toggle switch for constant running, lever drag, very light one piece unit and can be purchased for right around $400.
