Slow down!... But if that doesn't work, try bungee cords.

we use bungee cords as well when we are running. we also use them on our outrigger and center rigger rods when trolling in case the clip sticks and pulls the rod out of the holder.

I use these for running & trolling - they loop around the rod holders then the rod.........ICM

They stay on the rod holders at all times.......hope this helps

little tooth.........while your at Lowes pick up a white rubber mallet with a wooden handle - helps in sub-doing nasty big fish. If you miss you won't chip the gelcoat or leave black marks & it does not rust......ICM

Capt. Harry's sells bungees specifically made for looping around the T-Top tubing and over the reel crank knob. I've used them for two seasons and they have held up well. But the Lowe's cords look like a great idea that would be less expensive. For rod/reel safety lines while trolling put a SS clip on the end of 3/8" dock line and tie the loop end off on a cleat or the toe rail if you have one. The SS clip should be small enough to clip through the lugs on the offshore reel, or you can loop it around the reel seat/rod. I have also seen guys use dog leashes, but I wouldn't think they have enough tensile strength if a nice size tuna pulls your rod out of the holder.

Dog leashes work very well. They are plenty stong enough (they come in different sizes). They have a loop on one end and a clip on the other. You can buy them cheap.

I used seiner cord on my charter boat in Alaska. Cheap and easy with a caribiner or what have you.

Later.

Cajundave question was for securing rods in his T-Top.
Those tarp bundgees will hold the rods tight in the T-top rod holders, not sure the dog leash will - to much slack.............ICM
