Mostly bottom fishing and bass locally- Hoop potting for lobster and chasing late season yellow tail is the senario at Catalina Island. Look at allcoast.com- a local fishing site that has alot of info. for that area

When you get there you can go to Meltons and ask them. They are located off of Katella Ave. Also another nice B&T is a place called Long Fin ( I think that is correct). They are located off of Katella Ave as well. I was their in 2003 for about 10 months and had a blast. I went fishing at the Santa Ana Canyon River lakes a couple of times and caught some huge Rainbow trout. If you get a chance you should stop by and check it out.

That's a coincidence. I'm staying on Katella Ave. Right by the convention center. Think I'll go for a ride and see if I can find those bait and tackle shops right now as a matter of fact.

Thanks.

I am a charter captain out of San Diego, I run a 30 Rampage so my charters are limited to 2-3 people. All of the post are very accurate, fishing this time of year is mainly for bass or yellowtail at the Island. There are 1 1/2-2 day trips still catching tuna out of San Diego.
I personally love this time of year, stay local and fish the kelp beds and enjoy the great fall weather. PM me if you want more info
