Default Looking for a Guide in Maimi on 10/21

New Englander heading down to Miami to catch the Pats and Dolphins the weekend end of 10/21. I'd love to charter a guide and take the family fishing for the day on 10/20. My wife and kids have done a little bit of fishing, but not much. Any recommendations on a guide and the fishing in general in Miami this time of the year? We'll be staying in South Beach and will have a rental car.

Thanks for looking.

How many people do you plan to take out? A lot of Florida boats are center consoles and can only take 4 people max.

4 people. Wife and 2 kids. Or maybe a kid and 2 wives? Either way, 4 people total.

Theres a member of this forum, Capt. Bob Lemay. He has a good reputation also, although I've never fished with him. Bouncer Smith also has a great reputation.

The fishing in October is as good as any down here (except maybe sailfish season)

Capt LeMay is a light tackle, inshore Captain and I don't believe he can/will carry four people.

All the below Captains are class people and outstanding captains and fishermen who I would not hesitate to take me and my family offshore.

Capt Bouncer Smith Bouncers Dusky, http://www.captbouncer.com/

Capt. Jimbo Thomas (Thomas Flyer) 305-374-4133, http://www.captainconnection.com/thomas_flyer.htm

Capt. Ray Roscher, Miss Britt 305-201-FISH http://www.captainconnection.com/off...miss_britt.htm

Capt Dean Panos, Double D, http://www.doubledcharters.com/

Like everyone said, your best bet is to hook up with a guide that fishes four at a time. If you ever do want to fish the backcountry of Everglades National Park (Flamingo, Everglades City, Chokoloskee) the way skiff guides like myself would work the charter is to set you up with two boats (two persons per boat...). Hope you have a great day - all of the guides mentioned are first rate.

FYI, DEan's getting the daytime swordfishing down pretty good. He just put a 510 in the boat. Here's a link to his post on this catch.
