Default East side of Mississippi Delta. (Out of Biloxi)

Three of us are running an old 34 footer over to Biloxi in a couple of weeks. The boat has a diesel generator and AC plus just about all of the comforts of home. We plan to fish 1 to 3 day trips then spend a little time ashore before doing it again. We plan to stay a month, weather permitting.

We have plenty of tackle and know how to rig.

Unfortunately, I've never fished out of Biloxi. I've fished out of Venice, LA several times and have a good idea of how we should fish. We'd like to catch a Swordfish, some Tuna and other pelagics and catch some Snapper too.

Any advice or tips?

Plenty of snapper in an around the Main pass blocks in 150-200' of water. Plenty Mangroves and AJ too. For tuna, plan on running south or East of VK 989. Tuna have been near the shelf rather infrequently this year. I have however, seen some nice open water schools just south of the 12 mile rigs on a couple of occasions this year. In green water too. Its not something I'd count on but when they are there they are usually BIG and STUPID.....

Stand-by buoys near ans off the shelf have FINALLY started holding consistent good bait.

Hope this helps.

Make the due west run out of CR and you will find the Tuna in a block encompassing 086W to 087W & 027N to 028N.

You can walk across them they are so thick. Should still be there for the next few weeks.

You can then run to Biloxi with your fishboxes full.

150 NM south of Dauphin Island (well, you would track 165 degrees).

Add that fuel bladder and get after it!!!

Depth - it runs from the shelf contour, into 3000 METERS of water.

I would recomend fishing pretty much the same waters you would fish if you were to head out of Venice south pass.
