Default Alaska fishing report from Capt Rob 8/19/2007

You know, when you have a good group of people on your boat good things happen. I had Rob, Joseph, Logan and Tyler on board this week and it was a blast! So, here it is.

On day 1 we did the halibut thing to put some meat in the freezer. Bigger one is 77 lbs.

Day 2 was out to the outer coast (Pacific Ocean) for the Grand Slam. King and silver salmon, yellow eye rockfish, quillback rockfish, halibut, black bass, etc. Big halibut is 156 lbs and the king is about 22 lbs.

Day 3 we headed back out to the outer coast. We caught our limit of ling cods on the way out, then our limit of king salmon in the 20-25 lb class, along with a nice grade of silvers, some quillbacks and yelloweye, etc.

Day 4 we had to get on some halibut, bigger one here is 103 lbs.

Day 5 was our short day and the guys said to try for silvers on the inside and they would release everything else. So we got 3 shiny ones and went on a whale watching excursion for a while. All in all a great and fun week with some good folks!

P.S. My next stop is Venice, Louisiana. Folks, if you have never been to Louisiana to fish you are really missing out. Can't wait to see my Gulf Coast buds and smackdown some yellowfins!

Tell the world why don't you? Nice haul, and Oct. will be here before you know it.
