Default rod guide oxidation

Hi all,

I have an ugly stik BWB1140 boat rod, and I'm getting all my stuff ready for the season, and found that the guides have that green oxidation on them. Any tips on how to get rid of it? Thanks

Something like 'simple green' soap and warm water should do it. (and a good scrub)

CLR or Limeaway, either will easily do the trick

unfortunately, if it is green, its too late. More than likely, even if yo clean it off you will notice that the plating is probably gone.
You need to wash in warm soapy water after a day of fishing and spray a coat of wd40 or similar lubricant before you stow it away. The fuji ceramic guides are more forgiving.....but then they shatter easier if you bump them.
