I got a pair of handcrafted stand ups with the black reel seats and have no issues for about 4 years, has anyone had problems with the black reel seats?

Today is the first day I have gotten to fish since this post started and have been scared that my rods would break, warp, fade, chip or just fly apart. I'm happy to report that 8 stripers on Star Nicklite Rods with no failures...Just like the last 5 or 6 years.

PS: I forgot to mention that I love Star Rods. I have too many to mention and the best part is they all match in appearance. I have been a Star Rod user for a least 15 years and maybe longer and have been satisfied and like the wrappings and the way the rods handle. I am a sick puppy and hate it when my rods do not match. I own everything from Star light tackle spinning to rods I use for trolling for tuna (and everything in between).

No, it wasn't one of your rods, but it was one of your reels.....

Yes, it was an extremely large swordy, who ultimately gained his freedom when the main line broke above the bimini after an all-nighter. When the rod broke 1/2 way through the night, we handlined the fish while tying it on to another rig (one of your 80s'). The drag was at full for 3+ hours (rod in gunnel) before the main line parted.
