If I run a spoon it is a Clark spoon...standard wire rig. But, I have to say they are an absolute last resort. If I am not using live bait the main thing I pull are Yozuri crystal minnows...the 5 or 6" ones.

My standard Clark spoon rig for macks is #3 Malin, about 5-8 feet to a 4 ounce trolling sinker with spro swivels at both ends of the sinker. King's shouldn't be much different?
We use drone spoons(red is our favorite with a silver flast 2nd) for everything. Caught 2 of 4 YFTs last week with spoons. Also catch lots of wahoo, mahi, kings, albies and whateverelse wants to bite. We troll from 4-10 knots and usuall pull them behind a planer w/ a bridle rig or off the planer w/ the rubberband trick. I just run 100-150ft of 80-150lb mono with a small spro windon swivel slipped onto the ring at the spoon. I have NEVER(NEVER) been bitten off with mono and a spoon. I have also NEVER lost a yozuri bonita using pure mono. Now that i've said that i'll probally loose 9 each on the next trip. Anyway, a friend turned me onto the spoons for YFTs and they outperform the other baits on 1/2 the trips. Make sure the hooks r sharp as it's hard to get a good set when they're down low w/ the rubberband, works better behind a bridle but i can only use a #8 bridled so i don't get the depth.. Hope this helps!!

Large Clark spoon with a 4 inch wire to the spoon and a small, I mean small, black swivel. Kings don't seem to mind the wire, but seem to be swivel shy.
I use a 3-1/2" Drone, red & silver, and plain. Usually straddle a mullet strip on the back side, hook through the strip and wire the upper end... finished with a sea witch.
