Underwater lights. Point down or away from the boat ?
What do you guys think? One of the mfgs basically says their beam is 15' wide and illuminates 45' away.. Would you want it pointing down or out to the side? Our floods always are pointed down into the water... For the cool factor out the back is the coolest, but is it as effective?

Re: Underwater lights. Point down or away from the boat ?
Depends on the light and how they mount. I looked at several manufacturers and went with Abysslights, which are mounted to the transom. There are several manufacturers who make lights that can be bottom-mounted, but they are big bucks and better suited to boats bigger than the B25. The Abysslights I bought are quite bright and I think they'll do well for that boat...
RE: Underwater lights. Point down or away from the boat ?
I have mine pointed down and they really draw the fish. However, I wish that I had mounted them at an angle so I could see the underwater congregation better. I don't know that they would be as effective for drawing fish but if you can't see them what's the point? Actually one down and one to each side would be really cool.

It really depends on how you fish. I have two down and two pointed aft. When bottom fishing or jigging I use the the down lights. If I'm trolling or drifting bait in a chum slick I use the aft ones or maybe both sets.
