Default Panama City Beach Charter Boats - The Week of Thanksgiving

I'll be at the beach for the week of Thanksgiving and was thinking of chartering a 1/2 day of bottom fishing with my Dad and the Grandkids the Wednesday before or the Friday after Turkey Day. Can anyone suggest a family friendly boat out of PCB?

Also, is there any surf fishing this time of year near Carrillon or Rosmary?

Thanks for the help.

I don't know about PCB, but if you want to go out of Destin. The AL-Lin is a boat that I would recommend to anyone. Captain Harold is one of the best captains you will find.

Honestly, for a half day you should just save your money this time of year. There are reds, whiteing, flounder, and a few pompano in the surf. Snapper season is closed, and to hunt grouper you need more time (be far enough away from other boats that the capt will stop on his spots). Talk to Donnie Partlow if you have your heart seat on fishing. He will at least give you straight talk and not a sales pitch. His # is 850 871 0534 or cell 850 819 4209. If you just want to crank in some fish, IM me - I usually go out if it's nice and don't mind company. Of course it has to pass the admirals battle plan.

Big'un,

Damn nice of you to invite that guy to go fishing! I'm sure it's an experience he would always remember. That is one act of kindness we need more of and it should be a win-win situation. You get some good company and a little help on fuel and they get to fish in different waters.

Since you made the offer, I'll be done next spring with my 12 kids......just kidding.

Is Hunt's Oyster Bar still open? I love that place.

Business, I fish out of Destin rather than pc and I hang it up by the end of oct. so I can't give you charter recommendations but I can tell you this. If you were willing to take a full day charter I would pretty much guarantee your limit of grouper ( as big un said a half day wouldn't give the capt enough time to get you to his honey holes or out to the ledge in all likelyhood. I can tell you I use half hitch tackle out of destin for alot of info and for my bait and tackle needs and their main store is in PC. Look them up on there web sight for a phone # and directions and stop by there once your down there. Pick up a box of frozen sand fleas and get some fresh shrimp at the local seafood market. Peel the shrimp and try sand fleas and attach to a pompano jig and you will have a good time fishing in the surf. If you have a full day a charter trip will be fun if the sea's cooperate but its a couple hour ride just to get out to the ledge where most of the decent grouper will still be hanging this time of year and I don't think a half day is enough time to any damage.

Hey Eddie, I ate at Hunt's last week. They moved, had a fire, closed, and reopened. The oysters are still great, and the beer still cold, but the service isn't quite what it used to be since they moved to a larger building.

So far, every Hull Truth member I've fished with has been a treat. Ed Smith has treated me to several adventures on a couple of his new rigs, and we buddy boated for a marlin/wahoo trip. And JiminGA, me, and his boy got caught in a nasty storm on his new Grady this summer after catching a few snapper.
