Default Penn spinning reel upgrade...

Does anyone know who makes the ball-bearing line rollers for Penn's spinning reels? I'm talking about the 6500ss-9500ss.

Thanks for a reply...

I haven't heard of that particular upgrade. The good news if you keep the Penn rollers clean and lubed (top quality gun oil , Gunslick or BreakFree...) they'll work just fine. One of the reels on my skiff is almost 35 years old (a Penn 650SS, set up with 15# mono), has taken many fish over 100lbs (some in the 300lb range) and the roller's never failed. The 7500SS is my 20lb reel, it's less than 10years old now and it's just as good. I have other fancier and more expensive reels that my customers chew up in just a few months. Those old Penns are almost bullet-proof and the line rollers rarely cause any problems that can't be cured by cleaning and lubing them. Good luck.

Found it!

Scotts Bait and Tackle carries them... basically a titanium line roller with 2 ball bearings instead of a bushing. For those diehard spinner users and those using braid.

They have to be the smallest ball bearing I've ever seen

Anyone that uses Penn spinners for kings, and I'm not talking about 20 pound and under wimps, will really appreciate that upgrade.

You could also take the measurements of the bearing needed and go to

http://www.bocabearings.com/

those are good folks to deal with....
