Default Large landing nets on small boats - stowage

May be insignificant, but I have been for a long time trying to figure out a good spot to stow the large landing net during striper season. I see them in rod holders, and lost a few that way. A friend fished with me today and put it in one of my rod holders this way. Mine is the type with the handle that telescopes..
Works great Thought I'd share it with you

Looks good! Mine is wedged between my console and t-top leg, held in place by a bungee cord. I bought some kayak paddle holder clips to hold the net handle instead of the bungee. I'll 4200 them to the console this winter.

I do the exact thing with mne except I use a rod holder mounted on the side of the hardtop. Leave it folded up running and have never had a problem.

Afishinado, they now make a collapsible net, it folds up into the handle of the net and can be stored in the gunnel rod holder. I remember it from last years AC boat show, cant think of the brand runs around $80.00 to $90.00.

Do you kill the fish? Any reason not to use a gaff. They take up much less room.

Here's another tip for that style of net... I have one very similar that fits into the forward casting plaform storage hatch on my skiff. It didn't fit though until I re-shaped the hoop on the net. With a little calculation and re-shaping that hoop can be elongated or actually shortened a bit to allow you to fit it into a smaller space. Another modification is to simply shorten the handle end a bit. You end up with the same net, but it will fit a tighter space...

My CC has a bench seat under which is a cooler held in place by two bungee cords. My net in the open position is positioned between the cords and the cooler in an upright position. Right there and ready to go when I need it.
