Default Toggin in the late winter versus fall, differences?

Is there any different tactics or noteworthy changes in approach for Toggin in January time of year compared to Nov, early Dec?

Yes! Here in LIS, toggin in late winter is very different cuz your boat is in storage and there are zero fish, and sometimes the marina where your boat was is frozen! Hunt ducks!

Rule of thumb, the colder and later in the season the deeper the fish are.
Still was catching them in 6' of water in November last year.

In NJ, fall tog are anywhere from jetties and inlets to the shallower wrecks. In Jan...~80 foot depths. Not for me, though, I'm tying rigs then.
