Default Ski safe boat insurance

To all when considering boat insurance. I was very well educated this week on insurance being this was the first year of owning a big boat.And suffered a loss of hurricane sandy. There so many great policies out there but be aware of ski safe and it's three times the deductible for a named wind storm... Also a (machinery limit) which is pretty much everything... Also the depreciation of all of it.... please ask questions when getting a policy.... I realize it is my fault but as a new boater wow what a lesson by a cut rate insurance.. On top of that a very unprofessional uncaring adjuster who made me feel like my boat was worthless and wanted to fight me on everything no mattter what.... BEWARE

Same here. You get what you pay for. Ski safe is a cut rate, semi professional company, Had them last year, they hung me out to dry after Sandy with a provision I missed on my paperwork that had a windstormn deductible of $17,500.....Painful lesson.

Go look into BoatUS, A+++

Sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with vessel insurance. Too often, companies sell the lowest premium possible without really knowing:
  • what they are offering
  • what the client's needs are
  • how the policy offered really covers (or does not cover) the client

There is so much more to a policy than the pricing. Take a moment and read this- I wrote this as an easy way to understand vessel insurance.

I have Ski-Safe and was very satisfied with the handling of my claim. I have a Named 1500.00 windstorm deductible with Sandy and felt that was fair. Sent pictures of damage to adjuster with repair estimates, received check in 4 weeks. Great service and just received renewal for policy with NO increase !! A+ with me.
