Default Leaking water through Yammie gauges?

After searching forever I found a leak on the dash around Yammie gauges. Is there a gasket that may have been left out? Right now after a gentle rain the inside console holds too much water. I have not taken anything apart...yet. Thanks....Brian

Bronco,

Yes there should bea thin rubber gasket behind the gauge. You could use silicone sealant as a replacement but getting the gauge back out will be a royal pain in the you know what.

Bronco,

The only ones I have are on new gauges. I do have a spare one from a Yamaha gauge warranty. Send me your ship to by email and I will drop one in the mail at no charge. parts@shipyardisland.com

I took of the gauge in question. The gasket was there but was folded and in the 12 o clock position of the fold. I took it off flattened it out and added a little heat. It is now back and in the 6 o clock position where the fold was. Hopefully it'll be alright. Hope this thread helps out any other boater thas has an idiot install the gasket incorrectly. Thanks Andy! Enjoy your holidays! How tight should the little screws be? The seemed a bit loose intially. Didn't wan't to crank on them too much. Brian

Do not ovettighten those nuts. What can happen if the nuts are tightened to much is that it can actually disort the LCD panel inside the tach and lead to an early LCD screen death.

Just tight enough to hold the gauge in position.
