Default Yamaha Command Link

Andy --

Have you seen the new Command Link gauges yet or the dealer literature for them?* Is the system backwards compatible for those of us with newer engines such as the F250 that have an ECU and which one assumes were designed to use the new system?

Default RE: Yamaha Command Link

Nomans,

A couple of weeks back I got the parts inof and pricing but had no idea what was needed and what worked with what. A couple of days ago I got the newest rigging guide from Yamaha and that goes into detail about installation, kits ect. It is fairly lengthy and I have not had the time to read through it. I do have a couple of re-powers coming up that I want to use it on. Plan to take some pics and post some info about it.

All of the 2005 ECU controlled Yamaha outboards F50 thru F250 and all 2005 HPDI models and newer are capable of using the Command Link System.

Thanks,

Andy

Sounds good. I look forward to hearing your first-hand report. Does the literature mention compatibility with any plotters or other electronics?* Northstar just released a new version of the software for their 6000i plotters than supports the Mercury Smartcraft system.* You can display an "Engine" page on the plotter that shows fuel burn, etc etc.
