Default water temp alarm

I have a 1999 225 ox66 . When put in gear and idleing down the canal (about 600 rpm) the one motors temp alarm goes off after about 5 minutes or so. It has a new water pump this spring. I t has done this 3 times , when the rpms are above this it does not happen . Its pumping water and the other motor does not do this. Any suggestions or just dont idle so low for so long. It does not happen when idleing in nutral. please give me some Ideas. Thanks

2870,

Check your pressure valve(poppit valve).........it may be stuck open and your check your t-stats.

Do you have a service manual?

Andy
