We are able to offer Yamaha Diagnostic Software kits. These kits are the same tools that Yamaha technicians use to diagnose, troubleshoot and check your Yamaha engines computer, fuel system, sensors and ignition system. These software kits works on all of the following engines:
All Yamaha HPDI models (Z150,Z175,Z200,VZ225, Z and VZ250 and the Z300's)
All EFI Four Stroke Yamaha engines (F40LA, F50, F60, F75, F90, F115, F150, F200, F225, F250, F300 and the F350)
Yamaha YDS capable Watercraft (jetski's)
The kits will not work on any Yamaha OX66 fuel injected engine or any Yamaha carbed engine.
The software is simple to use. All you need is laptop or pc with any version of Windows (except Windows 95), one open USB port and a CD\DVD drive to install the software.
The kit comes with the Diagnostic software on CD, a USB cable to connect the laptop to the engine, a data converter module and an instruction booklet. The data converter module is a small black box that is wired into the USB wire connecting to the engine. The cable is long enough for the laptop to reach most helms stations while under way. The instruction booklet is very easy to understand and very detailed.
I have confirmed with Yamaha and I am authorized to offer these to Yamaha customers. You can not really change anything on the engine by using the software. You can check numerous sensors, view and clear trouble codes, perform running cylinder drop tests, rpm history, maximum and minimum sensor values, engine max speed, fuel pressure, over rev control history, overheat control history.... just to name a few things.
If you are a mechanical techy kind of boater, then this would be right up your alley. If you are a boater that travels to remote places that may not have Yamaha service, then the software is good thing to own. If you are owner that does not know exactly how to remove the engine cowling cover on your outboard, then maybe is not a worth while purchase. No jabs here, just trying to make straight up comments.
Pricing for the kit is not as high as one would think. If you are interested in purchasing a kit or have more questions, email me at [email protected] or post a question here.
Here are just a few screen shots and capabilities of the software:

Andy, are there different versions of the software,ie, a version for hpdi's another for 4 strokes, etc, or a single version that covers them all?
Also, email cost of unit.
Thanks,
Tommy
Two things. Do you need any other things/cables to use the software once you have installed it on the computer? Second, I don't see this product listed on the Yamaha website. Is it a Yamaha product or an aftermarket product?
I am interested, just want to know more about it...
The kit comes with all the necessary cabling and adapters to connect to any of the Yamaha engines I listed.
Of course it is a Yamaha part. The part number is Yamaha Part # LIT-YDIS1-22-00.
I doubt you will find it on the retail site since it is a tool and not a part.
It is the very latest software version too. January 2004 edition. The order I placed should arrive soon, and when it does I will post some pictures of what the kit and it contents look like.
