1992 90 Yamaha Water Pump Replacement - The Hull Truth

I am planning on replacing the water pump on my 1992 90 Yamaha. Will I have to disconnect the shift linkage from under the cowling during this process?

Also, does this motor have a pressure relief (poppet) valve that I can replace with the thermostats. I'm getting an occasional overheat alarm at low rpms and during idling, with a steady stream of water out of the pee hole. I'm thinking that I may need to replace the pressure relief valve or thermostats or both along with the pump.

Finally, can you send me a quote for the water pump kit (with impeller and housing) and for the pressure relief valve (if there is one). Shipping to SC, zip code 29209.
