Default connecting my GPS to my Yamaha guages

Andy,

I have a Raymarine E80 and the regular Yamaha guages that look like this. I don't seem to know how to hook the GPS into the speedometer so I have a more accurate speed/mpg reading. The GPS would be much more accurate than the water pick-up, but I'm unsure if I need a special part? Thanks . Kurt

That larger diameter (1/4" or so) wire in that picture is the input wire for the NMEA GPS input. You will need a $13 Yamaha wire that connects to that plug which will connect to your NMEA GPS wire.

Andy:

I have not hooked up the Command Link square gauges and the installation kit with the hubs, etc. that I bought from SIM yet but I am assuming that the connection to the GPS is in there somewhere - correct? Do I need the added connector?

Thanks,

Bob

PSA,

The GPS input for the Command link gauges is on the same wire harness as the Speed/Fm gauge's wire for fuel tank level.

Thanks,

Andy
