Default Yamaha dual engine gauges fuel flow question

I have installed the Yamaha dual engine gauges (4 total gaugesand these are NOT the command link square ones.) which includes the fuel management set up for early 2006 twin F225 outboards. Everything worked perfect until the last trip out and now i am getting over 3.5 miles to the gallon. I guess the gauge is only reading one engine. Normally I would be getting 1.7 for TWIN engines. Can anyone help me out ? I am figuring i may have bumped one of the buttons on the face plate but am not sure. Is there any areas to check? I am reading good on speed but am 1/2 off on GPH and seeing double on the MPG. Thanks so much.

Steve,

To see if both engine senders are functioning, you can toggle between port-strb and both with the mode switch on the FM gauge. Both engines have to be on and running so there is some fuel to measured.

If you can not toggle between port and strb then it is not seeing one of those senders. Most likely its the one that does not come on with the FM gauge. When you turn the key on for the FM gauge, which engine tach comes on with that?

If you are not seeing the P or S, then the gauge is only seeing one sender if both engines are on..... and running hard enough to use some measurable fuel.

Things to check......the wire connectors at the senders or the senders themselves. If they are close to each other you can swap the sender wires and see if the problem goes or stays with the sender. If they are to far apart, remove them, swap and then re-test.

Let me know!

Andy
