Default Trim motor

am in process of changing the trim motor on one of my 200 yamahas. Question is can I back off the bolts that hold the engine to the hull and slip the engine back to reach the bolt in the back of the unit? They are 1992 engines and have 3 bolts that hold the trim motor on. When I take out the 3 bolts and disconnect the wiring harness with the motor just slip out or is there a gear tht holds it in?

Default RE: Trim motor

I'm not sure if I remember on that old of a motor.

But, cant you tilt the motor all the way up then fold down and rest it in the brackets. Then using cir-clip pliers remove the clips from the upper and lower pivot pins, then drive the pins out and remove the entire T/T unit from the motor brackets ?
