With hunting season on the horizon, my sights are going to be set on whitetail instead of tuna. I have been fishing Jeffrey's this year without luck...the fish just haven't been there. I want to give NWC one shot to see if I can end the season on a good note. Only problem is, I am not familiar with Stellwagon enough to know where to head first. I plan on launching out of Rye, NH and then heading to the NWC. From there, who knows. Would someone be willing to PM me a good set of starting coordinates. I have a chart, but can't pinpoint a good starting point. Have an idea, but was hoping someone would be willing to help - a professional's opinion. Appreciate the help. Of course, I would be willing to share any intelligence with the board once I take the trip out there.
Thanks, guys. Unfortunately, I won't be making it out tomorrow - have alumni weekend at my alma mater....that's all weekend, so I won't get out until next week. Appreciate the info guys. Good luck out there! Looking forward to the reports and pics.
left newburyport on tues at 4am and ran to the sw corner...it's a long ride and that is closer than Rye. consider putting in closer. I am looking for a better place to launch myself. saw two caught and did nothing myself. did not have the right lures.
To early to put the boat away, going to keep her going through the winter, or try to. Will launch at the Gloucester ramp Saturday and if the seas let us we are heading for the NWC.

report from yesterday at the swc, there were a crapppp load of boats all trying for the same fish. the were some fish taken in the 50" range, and we had one knockdown ourselves, but the odds are definitely against you w/the number of boats out there right now. even the top charter guys were in the 1 to 3 fish for the day range. we did see some fish on top while out there, which wasn't the case a week and a half ago. the fish on top were smaller, i'd say average 30-40 lbs. the 'early morning' bite was not there yesterday. we had lines in at 5:40 and there was no visible life (tide?) for the first 30 minutes or so. there were several 'bursts' of life throughout the day where we'd see them on top and the birds would get going real good. it was during one of those bursts that we got our knockdown, think he must have grabbed a side bait. sporadic minky whale action most of the day. i will say that i'm impressed with how well behaved the boats are out there, there were only one or two times all day where we were 'cut off' (not literally) or boats coming too close. with the number of boats out there, you would figure there'd be more fighting & bickering. my advice to anyone heading out to the bank this weekend is get there early and be prepared to compete w/a LOT of other boats. because there are so many boats everyone's chances go down. i guess i would also say don't be afraid to venture off the corners a little by yourself, i heard at least one report of this working for someone.
read your post' to late maybe but on your way down , check out a small canyon east of rockport see it on capt segulls chart . it all funnels to the north the bath o charts will show ya let us know whats up at jefferies green machines !!!!!!!!
Not too late for me! I am planning on an excursion on Sunday. Weather looks like it will be ok - at least for now. Anyone have any reports for NWC from the last couple of days?
A little slow at NWC today , One instant hookup at 615 am on a pink 4' bar w\13"sandeel stinger. Then a few minutes later on a g/m daisy chain w/bird. Trolled for an hour more with a few swipes taken but no takers.Only 6 boats makes for a nice day. We ran 2 g/m daisies, 4' rainbow,4' hot pink, 4' g/m bird bar and a manns diver, all at once to give them a choice an' make some noise.
