Default Schoolie Bluefins south of Newport?

Is it too early or too late for the schools of Bluefin that come into RI Sound this time of year. I went out twice last week... West of the Buzzards Bay Tower with no luck.

I was up in Newport all of last week. Too rough out front but the guide said the BBF had moved on by Mid-August this year. They has them good from July 22-August 5 and then they were pretty much gone after the 15th of August. Sorry. Tons of Blues in the Bay, Bass have moved to the reefs out front, peanuts are on the move. Look for the Albies is all I can say. Tight lines. Check in with the Saltwater Edge in Middletown on Aquidneck Road, they are usually up to speed, especially if you are shorebound.

Come up to boston and out on my charter boat, we've been hammering them and I'm taking people on a open boat basis for by far the lowest rate around !

I thought I had missed them. Last year was good south of Sakonnet for a week or so. I should've written down the dates when they were here in '05.

Snooze you lose!

thanks
