Football Tuna off Jefferies or Stellwagon - The Hull Truth

Has anyone landed any football tuna over the last couple of days on Jefferies or the NW corner? I was out Friday and got 2 to the boat before 7 am. After that it died out. Was anyone out yesterday or today? Conditions? I am considering going out tomorrow but dont want to waste the fuel if it's not worth it.

There was a small craft advisory with reported 10-12' seas out there yesterday and today. 2 guys were tossed from their boat off Marblehead on Saturday while tending lobster traps and one of them - a 37 year old from Middleton - was killed.

I sure hope no one was out fishing in this weather.

I saw some kids pull into Cohasset Harbor in a 21' boat yesterday with a deck full of lobsters... They must of use the cover of the wind and storm to do a little poaching.

Will try to beat the 15 mile run out to the NW corner at 5am. The wind at the harbor as I type this is calm with fog...

Wow! NWC on fire today. Final count 13 boated,kept two @54" and 51" with a 44" schoolie to go. The rest swam again for another day. Quit fishin' at 8:30 a.m. on the count of lg. SE swell and a countering W wind. It was a bumpy but joyful ride home. Tripled up with no crew and managed to land them all. What a fire drill!

I think my sucsess has a lot to do with the early bite and using the right equipment. I'm always there by 5:30.They love the greennydaisychains with the Carlson bird on the riggers and two four foot squid bars down the middle. One hot pink w/sand eel color stinger, way back and a rainbow bar short middle. There were tuna bustin' at the dumping grounds on the way in, too lumpy for me.

Thats the key , starting very early!
Thursday, friday, and yesterday we were on of the 1st boats out there, and the action was non stop till about 8:00 am and we head back in at 8:30 am .
Went 8 fro 9 yesterday, 7 for 8 friday
