Default St Lawrence seaway

Looking to trailerup to Lake Ontario (Pulaski Ny) and head up the St Lawrence Seaway. Anyone know of good hotels, boat ramps, yamaha dealers etc...?

Also are there any good sites to see?

I am just thinking of hanging out in the 1000 island area and doing some fishing!
I am on a GradyWhite 24' 1992 model with a single 250hp.

I grew up in that area and its nice just cruising around in the St. Lawrence in the 1000 Islands stretch of the river. Alexandria Bay and the locks in Massena are two popular tourist stops. Might be easiest for you to browse through this site:

I grew up boating and fishing the "Golden Crecent' of Lake Ontario (Henderson Harbor) and also spent many years on the St. Lawrence river from Cape Vincent to Ogdensburg. Do not leave out the tourist attractions on the Candian side of the river -Kingston, Gananaque, and the many Canadian and NY Stae Parks that are scattered throughout. Make sure to hit Lake of the Isle in Wellesey Island - a great place to anchor up and relax and swim. Alex bay has Boldt Castle - that is a must see. My family has a hunting camp on Wolfe Island - the frst island of the St. Lawrence right across from Cape Vincent. And watch out for the freighters - they can sneak up[ on you if you are in the shipping channel and not paying attention. Great smallmouth bass, muskie, and walleye fishing throughout the region. Good luck and enjoy! Take some pics and share! I just checked: The antique boat show is this week in Clayton, NY. You HAVE HAVE HAVE HAVE to go and check it out. Some truly unbelieveable classic boats - take pics !!! Here are some links:

Eb1326...Thanks for the replies...we just got back from a fabulous lonnnnng weekend!

I t was really beautiful up there! We took your suggestions and went to the musuem the castle etc....

You were right about the tankers...they sneak right up on ya! But at least you know what to expect after you see one of them.....almost one every hour going right up the middle of the channel.

Thanks again...you made some great suggestions.....That was our first time there and we will go back again.
Also we did drive along route 12 and hit the aquarium and we really liked it...Very nice owner (Dave) he gave us a personal tour!

Pics coming soon...

Ghost - we just missed you. Just got back from a week at Grass Point State Park, right next to Fisher's Landing. I've spent at least a week up there every week for the last 22 years.

I wish I had seen your note - I would have lent you my Navionics chip. I could have also given you some good ideas on places to stay, a few good fishing spots, and plenty of not so good fishing spots!

If you are heading up again, drop me a PM and I'd be happy to pass along everything I know about the area.
