Well Beryl turned out to be nothing to fear here on the Cape.

However, last night's wind ruined a few boater's plans. Just came from checking my boat and there was one sailboat on the beach with a frayed mooring line and someone else's mooring ball on the beach but not their boat. I registered wind gusts of 50mph at my house last night.

My worry in storms is not my boat breaking loose but somebody else's slamming into mine. A large number of Summer people launch their boats and then leave town for weeks at a time.

As we say around here, "Summer People, Some Are Not".

What town are you from on the Cape? Or what side of the Cape had those gusts? 50 MPH huh?
