"Ham and eggs"... the old standby for Fluke consisting of a squid pendant about 6" long and a Killyfish. There's a reason for it being the favorite bait. It works when nothing else will. Bluefish belly, Fluke belly and just about any other light colored fish belly will work also.. but squid and killy are still the best. Oh.. a little trick for anyone that doesn't know... put a stinger hook in the squid, about 1" from the end. Use a 1.0 salmon egg type hook, (short shank) and let it "float" in the flesh of the squid. It's deadly for those short vicious hits that a lot of Fluke do when they take just the back of the squid and you're left with a half a pendant and the need to rebait your rig. Try it...

i think a lot has to do with where you are fishing. i have always found that killies outfish other baits in the back bays but offshore, big dead baits work better than killies. like sardines, smelt, spearing, peanut bunker, snappers. etc. but no matter what, a strip of something white always helps put fish in the cooler. also nothing beets a whole live snapper blue no matter where you are.

A nice fresh piece of Fluke Belly and large Mummy is killer on big Fluke. It's my favorite combo.

I believe a mummy chum is a killie, although they may be different fish from a similar family. I am not really sure. My favorite is a spearing and squid combo or Killie and squid combo. Fluke belly works well also and in the fall peanut bunker.

havn't fished fluke in awhile, but we used to plug up a big bluefish in the morning, and cut strips about 1" wide from belly to back.20 or more baits per fish. fished on a jig head, these were deadly.
