Default I know it's a long shot, but...

Does anyone know of a place I can keep my boat in the water during July and August near Eel River near Falmouth, MA. My family spends the summer there and i was hoping to keep my new boat there during the summer. I am on the mooring waiting list at the Falmouth Harbormaster, but apparently there won't be any turnover this year. All the marinas I have contacted make you pay for the entire year.

I will only be there for a week and maybe a couple of weekends, but would like to keep the boat in the water so that my wife and extended family can use it while I am gone. I don't have a problem trailering it, but I know my wife is not real comfortable launching and trailering.

Like I said, I know its a long shot, but it's worth a try.

Thanks,

unfortunately for you many boaters on the Cape consider July and August a full year of boating. There are many boats on the cape that only leave the slip a few times a year. You're not going to find any marina that will let you get away with paying for July & August only. You can rent slips by the weekend & week at Falmouth Harbor. That might be your best bet during the times you will know that you will be there.

I would agree with Rip Runner. A slip in the Inner Harbor is probably your best bet. It is not cheap! $2.50/ft/night with a minimum of $75/night for the first 14 days. It goes to $5/ft after 14 days. Power is $5/night. I calculate $6600 for July and August with power for a 25 ft boat! That's about what most marinas would charge for the season if you can find a spot. Details at https://www.town.falmouth.ma.us/harb...st/request.php.

The mooring list in Falmouth is about 10 years long right now.

I would ask about land storage and drop it in when you want to use it. If it is on a trailer drop it in yourself. It is about 100.00 a month unlimited use at my marina.

Thanks for the feedback ya'll. The dry storage option might just work. That way when I am not there, my wife can call the marina and have them drop it in the water. I think that will go over better than her launching off the trailer.
