no problem. it gets updated MUCH more frequently when the action heats up as we head into may.

Do you find that one or two geographic regions have more posts?
Like Monte, I'm interested in RI.

I've been a member/follower of NorEast for years. The reports can be useful and informative but...
The majority of the posts are by the charter and party boat members.
They're really posting to advertise a service, veiled as a "report".
You've got to learn who exaggerates vs. who's honest.
There's plenty of both.

The Noreast report used to be just member reports, and was excellent, now it is just charters and party boats as JJ JR said.

I don't find it as useful as it once was.

I find it useful in that it gets my hopes up most of the time. it's nice to be confident going into the fishing day.

well the season certainly is still young on LI and striper action is yet to heat up. During later may and so on the site is getting reports in daily and a bunch of them. last year I had two pages of reports for each day!

I know the print version is good for wrapping fish heads....
Lovingly referred to as the long island lier in me lil circle of maniacs, but i suppose it can be useful on occasion.

I laughed at that too! I read the reports before I go out, usually struggle to put a couple in the boat and then come home and read about how everyone else slammed em all day!

But next morning, I read em again and hope for a better day!

haha - exactly my point. someone caught 14 stripers! let's go boys!

<catch one short>

Next day: Someone caught 18 stripers last night, they said they used something different than what we were using. let's go boys!

<catch one short and one barely keeper>

WHAT A DAY!!!!

Wait a minute...What would I do without Jillybird? My wife even gets a kick out of his reports.

Growing up in Long Island, I relied on those posts religiously to gain any edge that I could. Since Noreast was sold few years back, the website and reports went to sh*t. I can specifically attest to many occasions over the past couple of years years when I've been on a boat (party or private charter) when they've posted "another boat limit" or "left for port early because we caught too many" and it's been complete BS. I trust the Long Island reports as much as i trust Long Island politicians.

Now I need time for my blood pressure to drop....

Yes the site went to crap why don't we just post here more often?

I finally have some time to fish this year starting in May I plan to put in 1-2 evenings during the work week and I'll either fish out of here or up in RI on weekends. I bought a ton of Mojos and plan on dragging every piece of water around Fairfield, Westport and Norwalk CT.

I agree. I once checked that site often but now it's ALL CAPS and LIMITING OUT. GET DOWN HERE NOW!!!! There is also one member on there that responds to every damn post.....they have something like 30K and counting. The guy must sit in his basement, cranking techno music, petting precious and sewing human skin together waiting for the opportunity to reply ("it puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again"). Anyways, i'm hoping to be out on the sound between rye and sono more often this spring and will contribute whatever i see.
