Im a fan of Marciano, his nephew and son. Seem like your average hard working family. Prob the ones Id choose to fish with.I do however love the Tuna.com boat. That new boat is a really beauty. The cast is correct about .com Dave being SOL without Sandro. That kid keeps him in the game. I also pay a huge respect to Sandro for his Loyalty. He knows his day will come. Many people jump the gun in life and eventually the bullet catches up to them. Pinhead seems to have matured a little. I thought he was going to loose his shit on the last lost fish but he proved me wrong.

In the first season they did this all the time

I also heard one boat say fishing with undersized cod is illegal. Things have changed a little

Interesting.
So does that mean that chumming was not really needed? Did tuna fishing slow down without constantly throwing chunks in the water?

Really enjoying this new season! I think the show has really found its groove now and the captains and crews are all really enjoyable and relatable. Keep up the great work!

The problem is everyone who watched the show started chumming the next summer/fall. The sharks quickly learned it was a free meal and swarm the fleet.

Two summers ago we twice had sharks pop up circling the boat as soon as we pulled the throttles back.

Ask Dave to confirm but he once said the 1st season or two they spent months filming but now they knock it out in July and August. During august the dog fish are thick and chumming brings them in too.

This is actually spoken like a true a-hole.
If you had any idea about what boating and fishing is about you would know that safety is number one and we are all out there helping each other. Ocean is no joke and even if I think you are an idiot, which I truly think you are, I will help you out out there.

The wife and I love the show. She loves Dave M. I met Dave C at the RISAA show, I let him know he was the guy my wife loves to hate. We've got some episodes on DVR, just watched the one with dot com catching 5 while Dave C wasn't on board. Boy did he look like he hated the ribbing he was taking, When he couldn't hook up he really looked like someone pissed in his cheerios.

I met Dave C as I departed a JetBlue flight he captained. Stopped halfway up the gangway, came back, and asked him for a signature on my yellow pad for my daughter.

Bastard refused.

Instead, he asked me to hand him his flight bag, pulled out a post card of him and the .com, signed it for my daughter and off I went.

Gem of a guy. Is he tightly wound? Yeah... Would I go out fishing with him in a heartbeat? Absolutely. Would I be afraid of something on the boat that he let slip causing an accident or taking me down? No way.

Both the Dave's are my favorite and for different reasons. Dave C is a true professional, knows his system, and works it religiously. Dave M is an artist, a guy I'd love to have a beer with, and like the Uncle you wish came a little earlier and stayed a little later at Thanksgiving.

Some good input but here is my thought in real
Life tuna season runs from
June 1 thru nov. assuming quota lasts

The show is filmed 6 to 8 weeks so a snapshot of the over all season.

We chum every year the question is will the be filming when the chum
Bite is hot. Or will it be one of the other times when we just wait. If the fishing is " to dirty " i.e. To many nusince species responding to chum. Sharks , dogfish , stripers , blues. All the do is destroy tuns leaders and that gets expensive quick. First few season we filmed later in the year which is historically when chumming can. Be most effective. But not alway occasionally we have some good chum
Fishing late July early aug up
In Ipswich bay. It all de pends on what technique is producing fish when the cameras are in fact rolling.

If we are using cod it's a good bet we are fishing Georges bank or the great south channel. But don't tell anyone

Watching the last episode I think Dave C's statement "I caught 5 fish" killed him. Would have been much better if he had said "we" caught 5 fish. No "I" in team right?
Then should have bragged on his guys saying see what they did ? I've got the best crew!
When I was a Watch Commander that's exactly how I did it when my guys did well. Never took anything from me and my guys/gals knew I had their backs.
Dave M. You remain a constant, the Dad and an example to follow for the rest of the fleet. (Us too )
Seems like Tyler is finally paying attention.
I know this seasons done but I'll wish you luck anyway and I'm rooting for you!

Default Anchored up inside?

Capt Dave, I may have spotted you anchored up my back yard last year, maybe the year before (time flys) - in close on the back side of the IOS – that green stick gives you away. Jiminy, that’s where I settle in on rough days in my little CC Mako. That’s all good structure in there.

Back in the day my step-dad Gigi only fished inside the shoals, between Cape Anne and Boon, that’s how much its changed since the 60s, they never went outside. At one time they even harpooned BF near the surf, I’m told once the freakin’ poon got stuck in the bottom…

Anyways, hope to find you out there this year, we’re the wackos with the big shiny reels and the rods longer than the boat - but it's fun being towed around.

Enjoy the show, wishing you success - Tightlines.

How can anyone stand fishing on the Wicked Pissah with that idiot for a Capt.
There's a reason he can't keep a good mate.

Anyone else reading Dave's posts in their head with his own voice and accent? I almost brought my hand up making the "ok" sign like he does on the show when reading his longer posts!!!

Thanks for being real Dave! Love the show and hope you kill in the seasons to come!
