i'm heading down to fall river or somewhere in that area i was wondering if anyone knows of a public boat launch that i could use and a good fishing store to get some pointers on where to go. thanks

I've heard there is one at the Taunton River Basin, but I don't know where it is and the Mass gov. website is no longer pulling up any info.

FWIW, there is a decent ramp about 7-8 south of Fall River in Portsmouth, RI located in the East Passage of Narragansett Bay. If this works for you, let me know and I'll post directs.

There is a pretty good ramp over in padanaram which is actually south dartmouth, MA. The ramp usually isnt too busy and theres a bait shop right over the bridge across from tripp's marina. The ramp is not too steep, has a good float and has plenty of parking, usually very quiet too. From fall river padanaram is about 20-30 mins. I would guess theres plenty in fall river but not that im aware of... if you are looking to fish the islands or so, this is a good jump off point. Good luck

An update on the padanaram situtation is the bait shop is gone - now an attorney's office of all things! If you do consider Padanaram p.m. me and I'll give directions to the ramp as well as another bait shop about a mile from the ramp - its called Uncle Kens on Dartmouth Street. Ramp is very quiet this time of year. Short trip to Sow & Pigs reef off Cuttyhunk among other places.
