How do you maybe spot a boat?

Especially in January, you would see it at a marina on blocks at a home or on a trailer.

Almost 1,000 people have checked out this thread. When you see the picture of the boat and the name, it kinda sticks with you.

If my boat were stolen, I'd like to have a thousand THTers keeping an eye out for her.

Good luck to the owner of that boat.

He is bummed out. No insurance on the boat. He is out of luck unless it shows up. Hard to believe it could show up and then disappear again. The yard it was stolen installed a security system after the theft. Go Figure.

Not to be a dick. But why ?? It's an old hull with a average at best trailer. Judging by the dome it's got outdated electronics, and a Honda power plant which isn't too common or all that desirable.

Why do people rob someone for 100 bucks?

True. I'm just thinking with all the boats in a marina why not one with new electronics and twins.

It's a nice enough boat, I just don't get it is guess

seems like a weird theft for sure. I have the same kind of boat, hardly worth the time it would take to steal it...which is one reason I love it.. wonder what they did with it..

It was one of two boats that were not shrink wrapped. They cut a chain to steal it. My understanding is that the other boat was much more valuable and not touched. Im sure the hull will show up somewhere less a motor would be my guess.

I have had a old folding chair stolen from my yard, a rake, hand cleaner from my shed. Bought a house 11 days ago its been broken into 3 times already. WTF? The question shouldn't be why do they steal it, but why does our society stand for it?

Until the cost of a crime exceeds the benefit, we will all be subject to the aberrant behavior of others. Every time you say, "oh, that poor person is just of victim of his upbringing" you are perpetuating the problem and you are part of the problem.

Some idiot just robbed the Lowell 5 bank. They got a good picture of his Mug on the camera. How far does he really think he is going to get? He took off toward Rt 3. I bet they are waiting for him at home already.

Was he by any chance carrying a folding chair, rake and hand cleaner?

They need to bring back public punishment. Put the stocks and gallows back on the town green and lock up the criminals out in plain sight ! Instill some fear and embarrassment and maybe some of these idiots will stop.
Regardless of whether it was a nice new yellowfin or a 40 year old Chris craft , it is still somebodies pride and joy.

Sucks for the owner !!!!
