Default Barnegat Ridge Location?

I hear about Barnegat Ridge this winter in my quest to learn to fish. Where is it? I know I will be able to maybe find it on my garmin once my boat is in the water, but can anyone help me visualize it here?

Sal, those two blue lumps marked 9 fathoms, just east of the 't' in Barnegat Inlet, are the north and south Ridges. You may want to pick up some fishing oriented custom charts in addition to the NOAA charts. I like homeportcharts.com, by Capt Bill Shuda. Capt. Vic Galgano also makes decent "commuter" charts.

When guys talk about "Barnegat Ridge" do they mean 5 miles or the North and South Ridges at 15 miles.

its best to fish there for fluke before the draggers come out(mid june) then its dead, but it gets slower there every year.
i caught a mako, tons of bluefish, albies, skippies, sbft, a sea gull, some dolphin and a friend swears he hooked but lost a big wahoo. but like i said fishing is tougher everywhere so sometimes its timing other times its luck.
