Ooooops Just noticing my license expires in March.

Anybody have quick rundown on procedure here?

I need to document hours, get a physical and Drug tested. Will CG Boston just mail me that paper work ? Can I down load it somewhere ?

You can download and print all the documents you need or request a renewal package be mailed to you.

The CG won't send you anything unless you request it.

Make sure you get all your paperwork down to the CG atleast 6-8 weeks before your license expires.

FWIW, a year and a half ago, the Coast Guard in NY was backlogged a couple of months and was impossible to reach by phone. The toughest thing was that they are VERY particular about who administers your drug test, so if you get in touch with the CG on the phone, see if they can send you someplace specific. I went to a guy who swore that he was approved to do the Coast Guard tests, and they regected it. A real pain since it took them three months to get back to me just to tell me that.

Maybe you'll have better luck in Boston.

Thanks for the info guys. I use the Maritime Consortium for drug testing. I have been enrolled with them for a few years.

Seems like a waste of money. Mary Jane and I never got along.

The process is the process and it may take a little while to get things back. The best thing is March is not too far away and at least it is the winter and you are not using the ticket. The best advice I can give is download the necessary paperwork, get and updated physical and make a copy of your current corsurtium enrollment and go into Boston and drop off all paperwork. I think you will find the process easier than most people think. By the way have a Merry Christmas.
